Tech of the Week: Boeing

Who: Boeing Co.'s newly designed Dreamliner aircraft

What: The Boeing 787 Dreamliner serves as a lighter, faster and more efficient aircraft capable of providing longer direct flights than earlier models. The aircraft is designed to provide wider seat space, more legroom and extra space for overhead luggage.

Future: After three years of delays, the 787 Dreamliner will make its first passenger flight from Narita to Hong Kong Oct. 26. Boeing has about 821 orders for the aircraft, with projected sales reaching $400 billion. It may take years for Boeing to sort out potential production problems, however.
