Indecent exposure reported on Arlington Boulevard

The incident occurred early Friday morning in a ridesharing vehicle

An indecent exposure was reported to the Charlottesville Police Department at 1:34 a.m. Friday morning. According to a University-wide email alert issued by Tim Longo, interim chief of University police and associate vice president for safety and security, the incident took place in the 2100 block of Arlington Boulevard, near North Grounds and the Barracks Shopping Center. 

According to the alert, a female student reported that her rideshare driver exposed himself in his car, touched her without her consent and brandished a knife before fleeing the scene.

The email described the suspect as a 27-year-old white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He is reported to be 6’0” and weigh 170 pounds. The suspect's vehicle is a red 2012 Chevrolet Cruze four-door sedan. 

The email included prevention tips, emergency and crisis resources and resources for both confidential and non-confidential ongoing support. 

The Charlottesville Police Department is investigating the report.
