Charlottesville Fire Department responds to fire at Coupe DeVilles on the Corner

Nobody was injured in the fire, which reportedly started in the kitchen

Charlottesville Fire Department responded to a fire at Coupes on Elliewood Avenue early Tuesday evening after 6 p.m. 

Reportedly, a grease fire started in the kitchen and spread to the restaurant. Officials say there is significant smoke damage to the establishment but no injuries. 

Students gathered around the Corner as fire trucks rushed down Elliewood. Smoke could be seen filling the sky, and students took to social media to share the news.
