The Virginia women's basketball team went undefeated during Winter Break, going an impressive 7-0 to improve its record to 13-4 overall and 2-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers claimed victories at home against Davidson (Dec. 20, 83-68), Delaware State (Dec. 28, 71-54), Marshall (Dec. 29, 78-56), Rhode Island (Jan. 9, 89-53) and Virginia Tech (Jan. 13, 70-57). The team was 2-0 on the road, winning at Rider 98-51 and at Wake Forest in its ACC opener 69-50.

Virginia junior running back Cedric Peerman has compiled an impressive line of statistics this season that reads something like this: 566 total rushing yards (1st in ACC), 5.2 yards per carry (4th), five touchdowns (tied for 2nd), 113.2 rushing yards per game (1st) and a long run of 58 yards (3rd).
