Students, facutly host 'Teach-In'

The University’s Women, Gender & Sexuality Program hosted a “Teach-In” Wednesday in response to the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control’s March 18 arrest of third-year College student Martese Johnson and other events over the past year. Faculty members were invited to speak about how the recent events at the University relate to their own work.

Charlottesville City Market reopens

The Charlottesville City Market reopens Saturday for its 42nd season. The farmers and artisans market will be held in the parking lot at 100 Water Street, adjacent to the market’s location in past years.

Batten, architecture schools host sustainable urban policy panel

The Batten School and the Architecture School co-hosted a panel entitled “Sustainable Urban Policy and Smart Cities” Tuesday evening. The panel consisted of various professors from the Urban and Environmental Planning department, the Architecture School and a San Francisco Bay Area non-profit, SPUR.

Danella Romera, the current president of OYFA and fourth-year College student, discusses the importance of OYFA as a cultural organization and how OYFA plans for this year’s Culturefest, an annual multicultural showcase.
