The relay drill was going well for the Virginia women's soccer team at last week's practice -- until common courtesy intervened. As third-year forward Kyla Robinson made the tag at the end of her relay leg and began to slow up from her sprint, teammate Angela Hucles was right on her heels.

Virginia hoops prep for Russian National Team

The preseason doesn't look to get much easier for the Cavalier women's basketball team as the Russian national team comes calling at University Hall tonight at 7:30 p.m. The Russian national team comes into tonight's showdown continuing their seven-game American tour after previous stops in Atlanta, Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Clemson.

Crew team sweeps at Rivanna Regatta

The Virginia women's crew team literally blew their competition out the water this weekend, winning all four events at the regatta they hosted on the Rivanna Reservoir. Over 250 rowers from six teams came to the Cavalier boathouse to compete in Sunday's "Rivanna Romp." All of the Cavaliers' ACC opponents -- North Carolina, Duke and Clemson -- attended, as well as teams from the University of Miami, Georgetown and Ohio State. Rowers competed in four different events on the four-kilometer course.

At this point last week, the Virginia women's soccer team had lost four of its last five games and was still recovering from a heart-wrenching loss to Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
