Cavaliers fall to Maryland, 79-55

The Virginia women’s basketball team could not keep pace with a tough Maryland team Thursday night, falling 79-55 in College Park. Midway through the first half, the Cavaliers (5-3, 0-1 ACC) had only managed one field goal but used eight free throws to keep within five points.

Extraordinary talent makes 'Edwin Drood' a resounding success

As I entered the Student Activities Building Sunday evening, I was not sure what to expect. I had seen scores of turquoise posters and T-shirts bearing the First Year Players logo around Grounds throughout the week, and I was intrigued to see if FYP’s production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood was worth the hype.

Every year, Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day, a day for increasing global awareness of HIV/AIDS. Currently there are about 33.4 million people globally with the human immunodeficiency virus infection/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, and more than 1 million living with it in the United States.

I think I’ll have to say peach.” “Then peach it is!” My young and bubbly bartender-in-training opened up her notebook and carefully wrote down, in delicate and curving handwriting, a few peachy drink recipes — recipes she would refer to later that evening when she took up her new post behind the bar.
