The event gave students, faculty and community members an opportunity to engage with the many art departments on Grounds while also bringing many organizations the chance to showcase their abilities.
The remakes that truly resonate are the ones that shape new narratives with a more engaging story and remind us that these adaptations can be more than copies.
Each of these books reflects how mother figures can mold the narrative of literature, whether that be shaping their children’s identities or teaching them valuable lessons.
Zines are small booklets that can feature anything from stories to recipes to art to poems — the content is completely up to the artist’s choice. From recent on-Grounds workshops to city-wide festivals, community members all across Charlottesville have been getting the chance to exercise their creative skills through the unique art medium of zines.
The New Dominions a capella group celebrated its 35th Anniversary concert Saturday evening and featured unique pieces sung by both alumni from varying years and current New Dominion members.
