Albemarle Police arrest man for motel room rape, assault

Albemarle County Police arrested former Charlottesville resident Nathaniel Fisher on a rape charge at 5:30 a.m. yesterday morning.

Around 10 p.m. Monday night, an 18-year-old woman contacted the police and reported that she had been raped at the White House Motel on Richmond Road near the intersection of Routes 20 and 250.

Albemarle County Police Sgt. John Parrent said the victim - not a University student - reported that the 40-year-old Fisher had raped her after taking her to his room in the hotel, after promising to give her some cigarettes.

Parrent said the victim, who had been staying at a different hotel near the White House, also reported that Fisher had threatened her with a razor blade during the attack.

She then fled the White House and called the police from her own hotel.

Police declined to disclose the name of the victim's hotel.

Fisher was arrested at the motel and charged with one count of rape.

He also faces charges for failure to appear in court from Charlottesville Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Fisher is being held without bond at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Regional Jail.

He had been residing at the White House Hotel for several weeks. Before he had previously lived in Charlottesville.

Parrent said the victim received two scratches on her right cheek during the assault.
