Warner wants to prepare Virginia to step into the Information Age by improving the economy and providing a world-class education for its citizens

On the Issues

Higher education: Warner will give $250 million each year to capital building projects at Virginia's colleges and universities with priority given to science and technology needs. He supports the tuition freeze until Virginia's tuition is at the levels of its peer institutions in other states. Then he will raise tuition with the rate of inflation.

    Car tax: He is in favor of fully eliminating the car tax.

    Standards of Learning tests: Warner is in favor of the SOL tests but he wants to reform the social studies and history tests to include essays instead of multiple choice.
