Kaine is running for lieutenant governor on three issues. First, he wants to improve public schools and increase funding. Second, he wants to improve the economy with a targeted tax incentive program to help businesses. Third, he plans to improve public safety by expanding Virginia Exile, a program he helped implement in Richmond that imposes stiffer penalties for people caught with illegal weapons.

On the Issues

Higher education: Kaine believes all building projects already approved by the state should be fully funded and supports the tuition freeze.

But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
