On the Issues

Higher education: Redpath believes in a separation of school and state. He proposes to cut all state funding to public colleges and universities.

Northern Virginia tax referendum: He would support market-based solutions for the state's traffic problems, including high occupancy toll lanes.

  • Abortion: He believes abortion is a tragedy but supports abortions through the first trimester. He is in favor of parental notification, but not 24-hour waiting periods.

    Car tax: Redpath would support the elimination of the car tax as well as the elimination of as many taxes as possible.

    Standards of Learning tests: He does not support the SOL tests and believes putting schools in competition with each other by letting students choose their school is a more effective way of raising standards.
