Foley takes first at Sharpie-Carolina Open

Virginia junior wrestler Tim Foley went undefeated in five bouts to claim the Cavs' only individual title at the 2002 Sharpie-Carolina Wrestling Open in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Sunday.

Foley took the title in the 157-pound weight class, while senior teammates Josh Etu and Bob Seidel took second in the 141-pound and heavyweight class, respectively. Etu was 4-1 and Seidel was 3-1 on the day, as they added to Virginia's standings.

The Cavaliers had 16 representatives competing at the meet and eight placed in their weight classes.

Women's soccer players recognized

Senior defender Kelly Worden was chosen as a memebr of the first team of the NSCAA/Adidas All-Mid Atlantic Team. Freshman midfielder Kelly Hammond was chosen as a finalist for Soccer Buzz Magazine's national freshman of the year.
