With a fresh frosting of snow carpeting the University, Grounds is a veritable winter wonderland. The newly fallen snow brings back memories of hot cocoa and childhood snow days. Wintry weather College-style, however, takes on a whole new meaning.

Snow-induced chaos hit the University full force on Sunday night when power went out in both dining halls during the dinner rush hour.

Second-year College student Heather Schultz said she was heading out of the dining hall when the lights went out. "People were grabbing brownies and running for it." Schultz said. "Everyone was stocking up on take out boxes

The University’s Orientation and Transition programs are vital to supporting first year and transfer students throughout their entire transition to college. But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
