Three Curry School professors recently concluded their two-year study on the changing face of education and published their findings in a book in early March entitled, "Educational Leadership in an Age of Accountability."
Curry school professors Daniel Duke, Pamela Tucker and Walter F. Heinecke examined the changes that have occurred in schools as a result of standards of learning, standards of learning tests, school performance report cards and standards of accreditation.
The three professors closely followed the daily routines of Virginia teachers, principals, superintendents and department heads to determine school faculty and administration effects on school and student accountability.
The study found administration members increasingly are involved with students and knowledgeable about school curricula.
