Virginia falls to Clemson

The Virginia women's basketball team lost, 60-56, in Clemson, S.C. Sunday. Playing their second ACC game of the weekend, the Cavaliers started the game with a strong 12-2 run, fueled by four three-point baskets from freshman Brenna McGuire. Virginia held a 13 point lead at halftime, but the Tigers mounted a comeback in the second half.

Clemson took the lead, 48-47, with under six minutes to play, and after trading baskets with the Tigers down the stretch, Virginia tied the game at 56 with 1:43 to go in the contest. Clemson's Lakia Stokes sunk four straight free throws to seal the win for the Tigers.

For the second game in a row, junior Kate Kreager led the Cavaliers in scoring, netting 18 points Sunday. McGuire had ten points in the loss, and junior guard LaTonya Blue grabbed a season-high ten rebounds.
