Hagans recognized for performance

Virginia quarterback Marques Hagans was honored with the ACC Offensive Back of the Week award. It was the first honor of his career for Hagans, who led the Cavaliers to a 31-10 win over Syracuse Saturday.

Hagans was a two-dimensional threat Saturday, throwing for 202 yards with a touchdown and adding 81 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Hagans also was accurate in throwing the ball. He completed 11 of 12 passes for a 91.7 percent completion percentage against the Orange Saturday, the third-highest mark in school history.

Hagans' 283 yards of total offense was a career high. A majority of his rushing total came on a career-long 59-yard scamper in the first quarter that resulted in his first touchdown of the day.
