Fall chill fails to cool goalie

Starter Restrepo learns to tackle climate change, ACC opponents in successful transition north

All students who transfer to the University must adjust to new people, handle a new environment and tackle the daunting task of learning the lingo. For redshirt junior goalkeeper Diego Restrepo, however, you can add one more item to the list of things to acclimate to: chilly Virginia weather.

"I'm from Colombia originally," Restrepo said. "I came here in the spring, and it was miserable. It was rainy and wet and cold. And it's coming back again, and I'm not looking forward to it."

Aside from the weather, though, the talented Virginia goalkeeper and Latin American Studies major has made a smooth transition to life at Virginia, both on and off the field.
