iTunes Top Downloads offer thrills and chills

From Gaga to Beiber, Swift to BEP, today

We all have guilty pleasures. Anyone who browsed my Top 25 Most Played playlist on iTunes would have discovered, to my dismay, that David Archuleta's "Crush" was among its numbers. It seems that iTunes is engineered to indulge this exact phenomenon. Peruse iTunes' Top 100 and you'll find plenty of new addictions.

According to iTunes' "Top Charts," we are concerned with two things: love and partying. Kick back during the day with Train's new single, "Hey, Soul Sister," and forget about everything at night with Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance." We're the Millennium Generation, and it's all about escapism.

Predictability in theme aside, there are songs that stand out from weak singles like Black Eyed Peas'
