Because of Saturday's Dogwood Festival Parade, the Charlottesville Transit Service has announced changes to the city's bus routes effective between 6:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., according to a statement released by CTS.
Routes 1A, 2A and 10, which depart from the Downtown Transit Station, will run on a detoured route.
Routes 1A and 10 will run from Water Street south on Ridge Street to Monticello Avenue and Avon Street. Route 10 service will resume on East High Street from Ninth Street NE, and 1A service will resume on East Market Street at Ninth Street NE.
Route 2A will run from Water Street south to Ridge Street and then to Monticello Avenue, Avon Street, Ninth Street NE, Lexington Avenue, Taylor Street, Kelly Street and Farish Street, and regular Route 2A service will resume on Park Street at Farish Street.
The trolley and bus Routes 2B, 7, 8 and 9 also will run on a detour as they travel to the Downtown Transit Station.
The trolley and Route 7 will travel on West Main Street to Ridge Street, Monticello Avenue and Avon Street, and when regular service resumes, then will travel through East Market Street at Ninth Street NE.
Routes 8 and 9 will run from Preston Avenue to Ridge McIntire Road, Monticello Avenue and Avon Street and will resume regular service on East Market Street at Ninth Street NE.
Route 2B will run from Ridge Street to Monticello Avenue and Avon Street and will resume regular service on East Market Street at Ninth Street NE.
Several stops will not be served during the event, including stops on Ridge McIntire Road at the Omni, West Market Street at Old Preston Road, East Market Street at Second Street NE, East Market Street at Fifth Street NE, Seventh Street NE at East Market Street, East Market Street at City Hall Annex, East High Street at Eighth Street NE and Tarleton Square Apartments.
