Hometown: Midlothian, Va.

Ideal date (person): fit, tall (6-foot or above preferably), brunet (or blond), funny and makes me laugh, not cocky but confident, outgoing, friendly, intelligent

Ideal date (activity): My perfect date would be all day during the summer, like going to Blue Hole and getting dinner, or just frolicking around outdoors and picnicking. Or beach.

If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?: Chase Crawford! Or Ryan Reynolds ... too hard to choose.

Deal breakers?: shorter than me, takes himself seriously and thinks he's really cool, too boring and not goofy, wears a chain necklace ever, bad texter

Describe a typical weekend: Go out at night with my friends, maybe shopping, going out to dinner, watch movies, do activities and go to meetings, chapter and lots of homework all in between. And crush on the inner tube water polo field (aka flop around in the pool on a tube).

Hobbies: drawing, painting, looking up funny YouTube videos, dancing on elevated surfaces, finding cute breeds of animals that I want [to] own, traveling

If your dating life was a primetime or reality show, what would it be?: "Sex and the City" #stereotypicalgirlanswer. Or "The Biggest Loser," get it?

Have you ever streaked the Lawn?: Yes! Multiple times.

What makes you a good catch?: I'm outgoing, fun and generally excited about things. I really like to talk to people and have witty banter. I am healthy and stay in shape. Also people tell me I give good advice.

Describe yourself in one sentence. I am a friendly, fun girl who loves new experiences and meeting new people.

Ideal date (activity): Picnic on the Lawn, or something outgoing like paintballing

If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?: Miranda Kerr

Deal breakers?: not being open-minded to other opinions

Describe a typical weekend: Hang out/go out with friends late until the morning, sleep in late, play pick up soccer, hang out with my suitemates and, if there is any time left, do some homework.

Hobbies: skateboarding, soccer, frisbee, Scrabble, movies, hiking

If my dating life was a prime-time or reality show, what would it be?: I don't watch TV

Have you ever streaked the Lawn?: More than one occasion

Good attributes: very athletic build and outgoing

Description: I'm an easy-going, adventurous second year always trying new things, like the love connection.

Erik: I wanted to do Love Connection because I'm always up for trying new things and getting into interesting situations that I've never been in before.

Julia: I was happy when I found out I was chosen, maybe a little nervous, but not really. I told my friends about it and was bragging to everybody that I'm going to be in the Cav Daily. I'd never been on a blind date before, so I didn't have any expectations. I was just hoping it wouldn't be awkward, that it would be someone cool.

Erik: Finding each other was awkward. We were both sitting at benches side by side, looking around. I texted her [with the number that Love Connection gave me] saying, "Hey, I'm at the Rotunda," then I heard her phone vibrate, watched her text back and realized it was her.

Julia: I was sitting down and didn't see anyone, and then I got a text from Erik that said he was at the Rotunda. He brought me a rose, which was really cute. I haven't gotten flowers from a boy in a while. He was nice, blonde, blue-eyed, very clean-cut looking. I like blonds, but I just like a little more rugged of a guy.

Erik: Giving her the rose was funny, but that was just from my perspective. I just really wanted to see what her reaction would be when I pulled it out. I couldn't make up my mind on how to introduce the rose, I wanted to say some cheesy line to break the ice. I don't remember what it was, but it was really cheesy, not really good at all. Then we introduced ourselves and hit it off right away.

Julia: There wasn't any awkwardness when we were talking or deciding where to go for dinner. I had to go to a concert later, so dinner had to be somewhere close. I suggested Lemongrass, but there was a wait, so I suggested Basil. I was getting nervous because he was a pickier eater than I am and I didn't want to make him eat stuff he didn't like, but we went anyways.

Erik: It was funny because the waitress was talking really quickly about something Mediterranean. Neither of us had any clue what she was talking about.

Julia: He was really interesting, so the conversation pretty much flowed at dinner. He lived in Austria in high school, so [we] talked about that, and about random stuff like our parents' strictness. We finally got around to major, year, etc. later in the meal.

Erik: We talked about [a] wide array of things, like each other's backgrounds, what we're involved with at school, what we do for fun. We were talking about some of the places where I've lived. The conversation flowed pretty well.

Julia: I talk a lot, so [I] might have been driving the conversation a little bit, but it was pretty back and forth. It was just cool getting to know someone I never would have met. We're pretty different, he's ROTC and pre-comm, and I'm a psych major, but we still connected. I felt like we have similar personalities.

Erik: In terms of what we have in common, we're both blond. We had small, random things in common, but I probably never would have met her [if not for Love Connection].

Julia: It's hard to flirt with someone you don't really know, so the date definitely had more of a friendly vibe. All the dates I've been on have been with someone I know pretty well, and usually you get to know someone a while before you ever go on a date. It was interesting because you don't usually get taken out on dates in general in college.

Erik: There wasn't any really obvious direct flirting. The biggest thing was that we were just trying to get to know each other. I feel like you have to know someone to flirt with them.

Julia: After dinner, I had to get to my concert, so [he] walked me home, which was really out of his way. We hugged, I told [him] it was nice meeting him and that I would add him on Facebook. We probably won't go out again, but we'd definitely be friendly and say hey if we saw each other.

Erik: I could see us maybe hanging out as friends. I'd give the date a 7. We got along pretty well, I had a good time, and the food was great. If you get crappy food, it ruins the night.

Julia: I'd rate it a 7. It was enjoyable overall - it wasn't awkward or weird, and he got me a rose. I just couldn't see him that way - he seems like a really sweet, good boy, and I like guys who are more sarcastic and goofy.

Erik said since the date Julia and he have "had like four texts, NBD."
