Cavs survive Tech test, 61-59

The No. 25 Virginia men's basketball team survived a frantic finish filled with miscues by both players and officials to snatch a 61-59 victory against Virginia Tech yesterday evening in Blacksburg.

With three minutes seven seconds left, junior guard Jontel Evans banked in a Hail Mary three-pointer - seemingly after the shot clock expired - to give the Cavaliers (21-6, 8-5 ACC) a 59-51 advantage.

Consecutive scores by Evans and senior guard Sammy Zeglinski with 7:32
