"It sounds kind of rugged," Range Chair Erin Kallman said. "You don't have a bathroom that's indoors, you don't have a kitchen, and for people who are in professional schools, at first, that might cause you to pause." At first glance, the University's 51 Range rooms are not that dissimilar from the 104 undergraduate rooms aligning the Lawn.
Ahh, la vida Valenciana. Lounging on the beach by day, discovering new dives by night. These first eight weeks studying abroad in Spain have been some of the best of my college career - and mainly for reasons outside the classroom.
Fall is a time for harvest and generous offerings. October in Charlottesville offers no exception. Oct.
A couple of weeks ago I visited Monticello, and as it turns out, Thomas Jefferson was a pretty impressive individual - a beast at life, if you will. I know, I know.
As part of the research for my senior thesis, this summer I visited So All May Eat Caf
My life is a summation of my Facebook statuses. Sad but true. Actually, upon three seconds of reflection, it really isn't that sad.
Middle school students are notorious for their short attention spans, especially in the classroom. The University's Curry Center for Technology and Teacher Education collaborated with the Smithsonian Museum to develop a new educational tool, launched Sept.

Listen up, you highfalutin', over achievein', Jeffersonian, Babylonian readers. I'm about to get real with you, so take off your pants of condescension, put on your boots of sympathy, cast aside your underpants of stink and grab your sweater vest of understanding.

Walking up the stairs to the second level of Starbucks, I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this meeting.
Looking back on one of the most tumultuous years in American financial history, it is interesting to consider that one year ago, the largest investment banks on Wall Street were quickly crumbling before our eyes or on the brink of collapse.
The unraveling of the Bernie Madoff scandal last year rocked the investment management world. Few expected the chairman of one of the world’s largest stock exchanges, a prominent philanthropist, to be running one of the largest investment frauds in history.
"The trash cans are too small," first-year College student Greg King said. "Yeah, all of these guys have the unlimited meal plan," first-year Virginia Landers said, playfully gesturing to King and fellow first-year College student Daniel Eustace, "so their trash cans are always overflowing with take-out boxes." Insufficient space for garbage seems to be one of the only complaints these first-year students have about living in the University's
Throughout history, talent and wealth were the only means of achieving stardom. The naturally beautiful have pursued acting, those blessed with smooth vocal chords have recorded platinum albums and others with athletic prowess have gained celebrity status through grand slam wins and Olympic golds.
For a while, I've been the person my friends go to for tech support. They've got a virus or just lit their computer on fire or something, so they call me and panic, hoping I can somehow, magically, just fix it. More than anything, this is the problem I get: "My computer's slow!" It's taking three-and-a-half hours to boot his computer and 11 minutes to open a browser - it's not a pretty picture.
