U.Va. prepared in case of emergency

Recently, Hurricane Matthew has forced several southern universities to evacuate their entire student bodies. Although the University has never had a University-wide evacuation mandate, there are several emergency preparedness plans in place should there ever be one.


On Tuesday, StudCo passed a bill supporting the football team going into their homecoming this weekend against Pittsburgh.

StudCo appoints four new CIOs

In their weekly meeting, Student Council passed resolutions to add several new CIO’s as well as look into the University of Virginia Investment Company’s investments related to the Strategic Investment Fund. Committee chairs also updated the general body on their recent activities.

College Republicans revokes Trump endorsement

After the release of a controversial video of Donald Trump commenting on women and sexual assault, the University chapter of College Republicans voted to revoke its endorsement of the Republican nominee. The organization held a voting period between Saturday night and 12 p.m.
