The bill would require appointees to satisfy all statutory requirements, take the oath of office and be confirmed by the General Assembly before entering office.

Some students also said the previous Board acted with malfeasance, and expressed their gratitude for Spanberger’s appointments which, according to the students, are more bipartisan in their political views than former members.
Many group leaders expressed that while the future remains uncertain regarding University administration, they hope to continue voicing their concerns.
In his first meeting with the Faculty Senate as president, Beardsley introduced himself and provided an update on his work during the first several weeks of his term.
The three participating panelists also considered the role of politics in education and attitudes towards diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in education and the workforce.
