Unbeaten Virginia women's soccer to battle Duke

The No. 1 Virginia women’s soccer team performed brilliantly in its first road trip of the season, illustrating that its 7-0 start was not simply a product of home-field advantage. To stay unbeaten, the Cavaliers will need to prolong their road success when they face ACC nemesis Duke Thursday night.

After winning its first six games, the No. 4 Virginia women’s soccer team could not have opened the season any better. The Cavaliers tallied 25 total goals while only allowing three, as they dominated all six non-conference opponents they faced.

The No. 11 Virginia women’s soccer team routed rival Virginia Tech 5-0 Sunday in Blacksburg behind a hat trick from senior forward Caroline Miller. The Cavaliers (12-4-1, 5-3-1 ACC) came out pressuring the Hokies (12-5-1, 3-5-1 ACC) from the very beginning.

Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond.
