Scholarships at the University

National College Scholarships

For Second Years:

*Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship gives outstanding natural science or math-majoring college sophomores and juniors up to $7,000 for a year of study.

For Third Years:

*Beinecke Memorial Scholarship for need and merit, covers tuition and expenses for about 12 college juniors to finish their senior year and pay for two years of grad school

*Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

*Harry S. Truman Scholarship pays for about 100 college juniors with at least a 3.0 up to $30,000 for one year of undergraduate study and two years of graduate work in pursuit of a career in public service.

For Fourth Years:

*Winston Churchill Foundation for outstanding merit in engineering, math and science at Churchill College, Cambridge University. Pays for 10 U.S. citizens ages 19-26 to spend one or three years and covers tuition, fees, living and travel allowance

*DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) pays for 60-70 B.A. students' monthly allowance, tuition and fee waiver, travel as they spend seven to ten months in Germany.

*Fulbright grants give a variable amount of money to a variable number of qualified students who want to study abroad in a specific area, or bestow Teaching Assistantships in English in Ecuador, France or Germany.

*Henry Luce Foundation pays full cost for outstanding non-specialist B.A. graduates to take internships and jobs in Asia for one year.

*Marshall Scholarships pay transportation to England, living stipend and tuition for one year for up to 30 academically qualified students who want to earn a British university degree.

*Mellon Fellowships in Humanistic Studies pay $12,500 plus tuition and fees for 80 college seniors or recent graduates to pay for one year of graduate work in the humanities.

*National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship Program, Minority Graduate Fellowship Program pays tuition and fees and living stipend for 900 graduate fellowships and 55 minority fellowships for graduate work in engineering or science at a masters' or doctoral level for one year and maybe two more years based on satisfactory academic progress.

*Rhodes Scholarship pays for 32 qualified, single U.S. citizens age 18-23 to study at the University of Oxford for two years, possibly three. It covers tuition, fees and living stipend.

*Rotary Foundation Graduate for culturally interested students age 18-30 to study abroad for one year in a country that has a Rotary Club. Covers tuition and fees, round trip travel from U.S, room and board and supplies.
