Gusick Tops ACC

Lindsay Gusick, a freshman midfielder for the Virginia women's soccer team, was named ACC player of the week for exceptional performance last week. She scored two goals in Virginia's 3-0 win at Richmond on Wednesday and contributed the game-winning goal in overtime to defeat Duke, 2-1, on Saturday.

Gusick leads the team in scoring with 21 points, 4 game-winning goals, and 10 goals, which also tops the ACC. She has started in her team's last nine games and has taken 54 shots in 14 games this season. Gusick scored all of her 21 points in the games she started. She is the second consecutive Cavalier women's soccer player to earn the honor after Laura Gaworecki was named ACC player of the week on Oct. 15.
