Raiders activate former Virginia target Curry
Days before the Super Bowl, the Oakland Raiders activated kick returner Ronald Curry, a former Virginia recruiting target who played collegiately at North Carolina, yesterday. Curry replaces tight end Marcus Williams, who was placed on injured reserve.
Curry was the subject of an intense recruiting war as a quarterback coming out of Hampton High School in 1998. He originally committed to Virginia, but later enrolled at North Carolina to play football and basketball.
The Raiders also placed tight end Roland Williams on injured reserve and activated safety Keyon Nash.
