Volleyball falls to Florida State, swept by Miami

With a 2-1 lead against Florida State Friday night, the Virginia volleyball team needed just one more win to put the Seminoles away for good.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, FSU rallied late, capturing the next two games and winning the match, 3-2.

The loss snapped Virginia's four-match winning streak and was the first time the Cavaliers have lost a five-game match this season.

The Cavaliers' luck did not improve against Miami on Sunday. The Hurricanes shut out Virginia 3-0 behind the .486 hitting percentage of outside hitter Karla Johnson.

Defensively, the Cavaliers posted only one block against the Hurricanes and struggled through multiple errors. Their only serious challenge to Miami came during the second game, which the Cavaliers lost 30-28.
