Virginia 3rd after First Day of ACC Championships

The Virginia women's swimming and diving team concluded the first session of the 2007 ACC Championship meet in third place, having earned 64 points. Leading the way for Virginia were sophomore Megan Evo, senior Katy Bland, freshman Jenna Harris and junior Jess Lewis, who combined to earn a second-place finish in the 800 free relay. Also contributing were freshmen Mei Christensen and Katherine McDonnell and juniors Stephanie Glover and Amber Bialas, whose relay team swam to a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The Cavaliers trail North Carolina (72 points) and Florida State (70 points). The meet concludes Thursday at the Koury Natatorium in Chapel Hill.
