Pushing their views on us

Student Council's "Free Newspapers on Grounds" initiative has begun providing students with free issues of The New York Times and USA Today. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll stick to getting my news from the Internet until these two propaganda machines go under. If Student Council truly wants to embrace diversity, they need to start with the diversity of ideas. These two papers represent the opposite of that, as they are two of the most extreme examples of media bias in America today. Student Council should provide us with a real newspaper like the Wall Street Journal.\n\nBilly Clinton\nCLAS IV

The University’s Orientation and Transition programs are vital to supporting first year and transfer students throughout their entire transition to college. But much of their work goes into planning summer orientation sessions. Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond. Along with her role as associate director, summer Orientation leaders and OTP staff work continually to provide a safe and memorable experience for incoming students.
