Extra, extra, read all about it! Standford White, an architect at the University, is shot dead by mistress's husband in Madison Square Garden! Prior to the murder, the University's new president corresponded frequently with the flamboyant New York architect regarding details for the school's most recent building campaign. In fact, the president's spouse met with White to discuss the plans for the new building on Carr's Hill just three days before his death. White's death marked the end of an era for the University, coming just a year after the inauguration of the University's first president.

White's death, although pivotal to the history of the University, is far from a current event.

Funlola Fagbohun, associate director of the first year experience, describes her experience working with OTP and how she strives to create a welcoming environment for first-years during orientation and beyond.
