The No. 2-ranked Cavaliers traveled to Durham, N.C. during the weekend and left with a 2-2 overtime draw Saturday night, extending their unbeaten streak to 19 games.\nThe match is Virginia's (2-0-1) first draw of the season.
The No. 7 Blue Devils opened the scoring on freshman midfielder Rob Dolot's goal in the 23rd minute. Between the posts for the Cavaliers was senior Diego Restrepo, who made an initial save before Dolot could follow up on the rebound.
Virginia would not equalize until the 71st minute, however, when sophomore midfielder Ari Dimas assisted redshirt junior midfielder Jimmy Simpson for his second goal on the season.
Sean Hiller put the Cavaliers ahead in the 86th minute but the sophomore midfielder saw his goal neutralized just two minutes later by Duke sophomore forward Ryan Finley.
As the game entered overtime, both teams had chances at goal but neither could leave Koskinen Stadium with the win.
