Stephanie Ross hired as new volleyball assistant

Replaces Stevie Mussie, now assistant coach at Penn State

The Virginia volleyball team and coach Dennis Hohenshelt announced Tuesday that Stephanie Ross has been brought on as a new assistant coach, replacing Stevie Mussie who recently left the University to fill the same role at Penn State.

Ross served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator during the 2013 season for the Dayton Flyers. She was previously an assistant for two seasons at High Point, helping the Panthers improve from 9-21 in 2011 to 20-11 in 2012. Ross started for four years at Pittsburgh, graduating in 2009.

Mussie came in with Hohenshelt when he was hired as the new Virginia head coach in 2012, a former Penn State assistant coach himself. Mussie was previously an assistant coach at NC State for two years, and a first-team All-PAC 10 player at Washington in 2006 after transferring from Pacific in 2004.
