Another burglary reported on 100 block of Culbreth Road

The suspect is still at large

This is the third community alert of March, and the second burglary on the 100 block of Culbreth Road this month. 

After a similar incident March 23, the University Police Department has asked the community for any information they might have on a burglary that took place Saturday morning on the 100 block of Culbreth Road at approximately 8 a.m. Timothy Longo, chief of the University Police Department and vice president for security and safety, said in a community alert that the University Police Department responded to the crime at 1:33 in the afternoon and that it was initially reported as larceny before video footage determined it to be a burglary.

Longo said that a man of medium build, and approximately 40 to 50 years-old, entered a residence via an unsecured back door and took both a laptop and a backpack. He added that no weapons or threats have been reported.

This is the third community alert of March, and the second burglary on the 100 block of Culbreth Road this month.

Longo said that anybody who might have information pertinent to the case should contact the University Police Department at (434) 924-7166.

Community alerts are shared via email to the University community when there is timely information about a threat that can be released to the community without compromising any ongoing investigations.
