Men's lacrosse earns ACC annual awards

The Virginia men's lacrosse program claimed two of the three annual ACC awards Tuesday. Drew McKnight was named the conference Player of the Year and coach Dom Starsia was named Coach of the Year. McKnight's selection marks the second year in a row that a Cavalier has been selected ACC Player of the Year; current Virginia asst.

The Virginia baseball team looks to rectify its icy four game losing streak with today's game against a fiery James Madison squad at 3 p.m.

Driscoll finishes second to lead golfers to title

The No. 24 Virginia men's golf team won its first team title of the season over the weekend, edging East Tennessee State by two strokes in the Furman Intercollegiate competition in Greenville, S.C. Virginia senior James Driscoll tied Maryland's Keith Unikel for the tournament lead at seven under par (209) but lost on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff.

Crew breezes to San Diego Classic victory

The Virginia women's crew team continued to succeed against some of the nation's best competition Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic. The Cavaliers won the championship in the second varsity eight competition with a time of 6:39.5.

At NCAAs, medley relay finishes fourth

In the first of three days of competition, the No. 7 Virginia men's swimming team began the 2000 NCAA Division I Men's Swimming and Diving Championships with strong performances from its 400-meter medley relay team and senior Austin Ramirez. The medley foursome of sophomores Chris Mousetis and Ed Moses, junior Troy Johnson and senior Doak Finch finished fourth with a time of 3:33.47. Ramirez swam a 3:47.76 in the 400 freestyle to take eighth.
