Amstutz named ACC performer of the week

Virginia junior Diver Pete Amstutz was named the ACC men's swimming and diving performer of the week after he swept the one and three-meter diving contests against Duke Saturday. Last week, Virginia freshman Fran Crippen earned the conference honor.

Amstutz set a school and pool record in the one-meter competition with a score of 326.78 points. His scores qualified him for the NCAA Zone B Diving Regionals. His three-meter scores were a season-best at 285.68 points.

The Virginia men's swimming team is ranked 13th in the country and will hit the road to face Penn State on Friday.

Borski notches second consecutive player of the week honors

With a goal in both of the Cavaliers' games last week, Virginia women's soccer captain Darci Borski was named ACC women's soccer player of the week for the second week in a row.

The senior forward has scored in every one of Virginia's last four games, placing her in ninth place for all-time points at Virginia with 73, and eighth on the all-time scorers list with 29 career goals.

Borski is only the third player in the history of the ACC to win player of the week honors in two consecutive weeks. Only North Carolina's Mia Hamm and Debbie Keller have managed the feat before.
