Football loses third recruit in recent weeks

For the third time this month, the Cavaliers received a decommittal from a recruit that had orally agreed to play at Virginia next year, the Roanoke Times reported Friday.

This time it was Matt Lowry and offensive lineman from Springfield, PA who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 300 lbs. He will play at Penn State this fall instead, which, according to the Times, is Lowry's "dream school."

Earlier this month the Cavaliers lost highly touted linebacker Lamont Robinson (6-foot-2, 200 lbs.) of Salem, N.J., who elected to attend Oklahoma instead. Darryl Gresham (6-foot-3, 227 lbs.), a linebacker from Roanoke, Va., announced earlier this month that he is now considering attending Florida or Virginia Tech in addition to Virginia after originally pledging to come to Charlottesville.
