Six football players earn All-ACC Academic standing

The accolades continue to roll in for the Virginia football team as six Cavaliers were named to the All-ACC Academic Football Team yesterday.

In order to be placed on the team, players must have earned a 3.00 GPA in the 2004 fall semester or have maintained at least a 3.00 GPA throughout their cumulative academic career. Virginia tied Miami and Maryland for second place with six members, two behind the Duke Blue Devils, who featured eight.

The Cavaliers named to the team were seniors center Zac Yarbrough and safety Jermaine Hardy, juniors kicker Connor Hughes, tight end Heath Miller and defensive end Brennan Schmidt, and sophomore corner Marcus Hamilton.
