U.Va. rises to rank No. 2 best value public university

The University also ranked No. 3 best value public university for students who do not qualify for aid

The Princeton Review rankings for Best Value College are made by calculating each school’s Return on Investment rating, based on data from fall 2022 through spring 2023. 

The Princeton Review ranked the University No. 2 on its list of “Top 50 Best Value Colleges” annual report comparing public schools. The University ranked No. 3 in the previous year. Additionally, the University was ranked No. 3 best value public university for students who do not receive financial aid. 

Also in this year’s rankings, the University maintained its No. 1 ranking for its financial aid — a spot the University has now held for three years. 

The University performed well in other categories, as well, ranking No. 4 for the public school-specific lists of Best Alumni Network and Best Career Placement. 

University President Jim Ryan tweeted about the Princeton Review rankings, saying he was delighted that the University was recognized for its high return on investment. 

“I’m delighted to see that the Princeton Review continues to recognize @UVA as one of the very best values in all of higher education,” Ryan said. 

The Princeton Review rankings for Best Value College are made by calculating each school’s Return on Investment rating, based on data from fall 2022 through spring 2023. Some of the factors include the school’s academic rating, financial aid rating and college cost.
