Vinegar Hill history adds to area flavor
By Nicola White | April 28, 2000When Charlottesville made plans to build an all-white high school in 1940, Charlottesville resident Ed Jackson's home was demolished and he and his family were displaced for the first time. Jackson, 77, was born on Pearl Street, the street across from Preston Avenue's Bodo's Bagel shop, where the County Office building now stands.
