A not so super start

CBS’s “Supergirl” aired on Oct.26, and it proved to be mediocre in nearly every way. One great thing about the show, however, is its score.

“Halo 5” is a strong addition to series

“Halo 5: Guardians” represents the second mainline “Halo” game from developer 343 Industries. In spite of noticeable flaws, the game possesses an engaging campaign, brilliant audio and visual design and smooth, crisp gameplay that features improvements to the core formula.

Plot thickens in “The Myth of Sisyphus”

Tensions boil over in the third episode of “Fargo”’s second season, resulting in direct confrontation between Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) and the show’s criminal element, as he walks from one bad situation into another.

“Beach Music” sets new tone for Alex G

Alex G usually doesn’t expect anyone to truly understand him when he makes music. If he did, he wouldn’t be hiding his already whispered lyrics behind walls of distortion, or writing songs about how whales are his favorite animal.

‘Fargo’ leaves viewers wanting more

In its second episode of the season, “Fargo” settled into a much slower pace. After the slow burn of the first hour, one of the biggest moments in the show so far arises in the final half hour, a scene viewers have been anticipating since the series began.

BØRNS births an indie pop gem

BØRNS’ album “Dopamine,” released last Friday, more than delivers on the lyrical romance frontman Garrett Borns promised and is no less delectable than his debut EP, “Candy.”

Selena Gomez’s ‘Revival’ fails

For the most part, “Revival” is catchy and formulaic, but also lackluster and a little too forgettable. Perhaps this is due to the album’s electronic and synth-driven production, which creates a curious amalgamation reminiscent of past top twenties hits.

Making Wavves

“V” is typical Wavves with a catch. While their songs once showed a devil-may-care, nonchalant attitude, there is now subtle desperation.

A&E

“Stories” seem overtold

Unlike Avicii’s previous album, "Stories" seems to rely on the same europop beats and big-name features that fans have grown used to, sandwiched between a few solid anthems that keep the album afloat.

“Fed Up” characterizes childhood obesity “epidemic”

“Fed Up” most certainly lends itself to fervent dialogue. The film seeks to rid its viewers of common misconceptions about childhood obesity in America, to make clear the dangers of processed foods and to explain the societal forces behind what it calls an “obesity epidemic.”

‘Steve Jobs’ hits a home-run

It feels like the previous Steve Jobs drama, “Jobs,” came out just yesterday. However, the recent adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of the former Apple leader from director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin is real deal and demands to be seen.
