Women's soccer receives bye for NCAA first round

Three days after getting bounced from the ACC Tournament in the first round, the Virginia women's soccer team had its collective feelings soothed by receiving one of 16 first-round byes in this week's NCAA Tournament.

The No. 19 Cavaliers (10-7-1) learned last night that they will host the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between William & Mary and UNC-Greensboro. The Cavs likely will host that second-round contest Sunday at 2 p.m. at Kl
