Virginia golf finishes third in tournament

The Cavalier men's golf team finished third in Hawaii's Turtle Bay Intercollegiate Tuesday. By the end of day two, the Cavaliers had shot 895 total for 54 holes, putting them 31 over par. Hawaii captured the tournament title after shooting 292 in the final round. Both teams ended at 27 over par with a total of 891. St. Mary's claimed fourth place at 36 over par.

Playing for Virginia, Junior Kevin O'Connell tied for fourth overall with a 219, three over par. Sophomore Brad Tilley tied for 16th at eight over par for a total of 224. Senior Jeremy Luce and Eamonn MchLoughlin were tied at 19th for 226 and 10 over par. Sophomore Craig Cook-Stevenson shot a 243 for the tie at 76 at 27 over par. Playing as an individual, freshman Daniel McGurk was tied at ninth with 6 over par for 222. Freshman Mark Perry tied for 69th after shooting a 238 putting him at 22 over par. Virginia will return to play in the Rice University Intercollegiate on Feb. 9-10.
