Freshman attackman Michael Kraus and Virginia will look to finish off the regular season on a high note with a win over ACC rival Duke Saturday.

Men’s tennis

What: No. 3 Virginia (21-1, 8-1 ACC) at Boston College (4-13, 0-8 ACC); Virginia vs. Richmond (24-2, 5-0 A10)

Where: Chestnut Hill, Mass.; Snyder Tennis Courts

When: Saturday, TBA; Tuesday, 4 p.m.

The Skinny: After taking down No. 18 Georgia Tech, 6-1, Thursday afternoon, the No. 3 Virginia men’s tennis team is gearing up for an away ACC matchup Saturday at Boston College. Then, the Cavaliers will play their last home match against Richmond on Tuesday.

Boston College has had its share of troubles this season — currently on a three-game losing streak, the team has only won one of its last 10 matches. Not only do the Eagles have yet to win an ACC match, but they’ve lost half of their conference matches in straight sets this season. Virginia, on the other hand, has half of its conference matches in straight sets, and will look to do the same when the team heads to Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Looking forward, Virginia will play its last home match against Richmond Tuesday and then will close out the season with two road contests.

Women’s tennis

What: Virginia (7-10, 5-5 ACC) at Duquesne (13-7, 5-2 A10); Virginia at Pittsburgh (3-12, 0-11 ACC); Virginia at Louisville (13-9, 2-8 ACC)

Where: Pittsburgh, Pa.; Louisville, Ky.

When: Friday, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.

The Skinny: The Virginia women’s tennis team heads to Pittsburgh, Pa. today for a pair of road matchups against Duquesne and conference opponent Pittsburgh. Sunday, the Cavaliers take on Louisville in their last road match of the season.

The Cavaliers will look to end a five-match losing streak this weekend. After starting the season 5-3, the team has been plagued by several road losses. Most recently, Virginia lost to No. 6 Georgia Tech in its first shutout loss of the season. When the Cavaliers take on conference bottom-dweller Pittsburgh — who has yet to win a conference match this season — they will try to get some momentum heading into their final matchups of the season.

They play Duquesne Friday at 10 a.m., and Pittsburgh later that same day at 4 p.m. Their match at Louisville begins Sunday at 11 a.m.

Men’s Lacrosse

What: No. 18 Virginia (8-5, 0-3 ACC) at No. 8 Duke (9-3, 2-1 ACC)

Where: Koskinen Stadium; Durham, N.C.

When: Saturday, 1 p.m.

The Skinny: Coming off of a midweek win over Robert Morris, the No. 18 Virginia men’s lacrosse team will get set to play their regular season finale this weekend. The Cavaliers will travel to Durham, N.C. to take on ACC rival Duke — looking for their first ACC win of the season and first since the 2013-2014 season when they beat Syracuse, 17-12.

Both teams are coming off of wins and will be looking to use that momentum to end the regular season on a high note. Duke will play its regular season finale the following weekend at Marquette. The Cavaliers will be looking to end their eight-game losing streak against the Blue Devils. Duke’s recent dominance over Virginia extends back to the last 17 meetings between the two teams — 16 of which have been won by Duke.

After Saturday’s match, Virginia will have a week off to prepare for the ACC Championship event, which will begin April 28.
