Cav women head north to Princeton, Temple

The No. 8 Virginia women's lacrosse team goes on the road this weekend to face No. 2 Princeton and No. 18 Temple.

The Cavaliers (6-2) play the Tigers (5-1) today in Princeton, N.J. at 3 p.m. and the Owls (3-2) tomorrow in Philadelphia at 1 p.m.

The Cavs are recovering from a 12-5 upset at home from No. 5 North Carolina last Saturday. Virginia senior Sarah Gercke and junior Jamie Haas each scored two goals in the loss.

Although the Tigers usually hold games on the grass field at Princeton Stadium, the teams will face off on the turf at The Class of 1952 Stadium today.

California love

The Virginia crew team heads to California this weekend to compete in the San Diego Crew Classic.

Last Saturday the Cavalier varsity eight won its race against Ohio State but lost to Michigan in the Atlantic Coast Conference/Big Ten Double Dual Regatta in Raleigh, N.C.

The Cav varsity eight is ranked second in the nation.
