In the final weekend of action before the ACC Championships, members of the Virginia wrestling team traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in the U.S. Collegiate Championships Sunday.

It was a successful weekend with four Cavaliers capturing championships. Redshirt freshman Sam Krivus, sophomore Chance McClure, senior Will Mason and sophomore Will Schany all rolled through their weight classes, going undefeated on their way to titles.

In the heavyweight division, redshirt freshman Tyler Love and senior Chuck Boddy both wrestled well, finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Will Mason competed particularly well, taking advantage of one of his final chances to take home some hardware. Mason won via a major decision, a tech fall and a fall in a performance where he handled his competition with ease.

Krivus, McClure and Schany all showed up for Virginia and won their matches without much trouble. They will look to continue this momentum going into the ACC Championships.

After a two-week break, Virginia will get back on the mats for the ACC Championships Saturday, March 4 at 11 a.m. The event will be hosted by NC State at the Reynolds Coliseum.
